An Incident in the Park

Jeff poked at the bushes in the park as he searched for interesting-looking insects. He had already found a green and brown lizard and a small white insect. He also saw the bushy tail of a squirrel as it scampered up a tree. Satisfied with what he had seen, Jeff was about to return home when he heard a rustling sound in a bush nearby. Curious, Jeff walked over to investigate.

Jeff poked at the bush with a stick. Getting no reaction from whatever was inside, he became bolder and shoved the stick all the way in. Halfway, he met with resistance as the stick hit something hard. Jeff tried to push the stick in but he could not. Instead of giving up, he hit at the hard object. By the time Jeff felt the pull on his stick, it was too late. Before he could release his grip, he was dragged into the bush. Stumbling, he found himself staring into a pair of big black eyes. The creature emitted a loud growl. Two sharp teeth-like fangs protruded threateningly and saliva dripped from its mouth. Jeff tried to back away but his foot was wedged in the uneven ground. Falling down, he tried to kick the dog as it slowly got up and advanced towards him.

“Help!” he screamed, hoping that someone would hear him. However, no one came to his rescue. The dog opened its mouth wide and made a sharp bite on Jeff’s left leg. The pain was excruciating. The more Jeff tried to free his leg, the more firmly the dog bit on it. Its teeth were like a dozen knives piercing into his skin. “Get away!” Jeff screamed but the dog did not let go of him.

Just then, a young girl happened to pass by with her father. The father quickly grabbed a long stick from the ground and hit the dog forcefully. Eventually, he managed to chase the dog away. By then, Jeff was panic-stricken and he could hardly utter a word. The father and daughter helped him up and sent him to the nearest clinic. There, he was given an injection. Before going home, he thanked the father and daughter profusely for their help.
